AZ Alkmaar, or Alkmaar Zaanstreek, is a Dutch football club based in Alkmaar, Netherlands. Founded in 1967, they play their home matches at the AFAS Stadion. The club's colors are red and white, hence the nickname "De Kaasboeren" (The Cheese Farmers).
